Pilot registration general elective courses

There will be a course registration pilot for the following general elective courses:

  • Academic Writing
  • Basics of Biostatistics
  • Co-create: life’s professional challenges
  • English for Academic Purposes
  • History of Medicine and the Biomedical Sciences
  • Loopbaanoriëntatie en professionalisering
  • Science and Society
  • Societal Challenges for Life Science Scientist: exploring interdisciplinarity

You can use Osiris Student during a fixed time frame to register for these general elective courses. This pilot is for courses with starting dates 12 November and later. General elective courses starting between 1 September and 11 November 2018 will follow the regular registration procedure.

For elective courses in the pilot (with starting dates 12 November and later):
You can register for these courses in a certain period by using Osiris Student during the corresponding course registration periods. Registration opens on the first day of the registration period at 18:00h and closes on the last day at 00:00h. You will be automatically placed on the waiting list. You are informed via Osiris within 3 weeks after the registration deadline whether or not you are admitted to the course.

If you have been admitted to the course, and do not want to participate, you have to unregister before the unregistration deadline.

If you are not admitted to a course, you can apply for another course (if there are still places available) within the corresponding re-registration period. Courses that are not fully booked will be re-opened for re-registration for 2 days (re-registration opens on the first day at 18:00h and closes on the last day at 00:00h).

  • Note: it is possible that the course for which you are not admitted has new places available during the re-registration period because of unregistration of students.

Students that have not unregistered and do not show up or withdraw last-minute without a valid reason, will be put on a blacklist and will be placed as last priority for future courses. Valid reasons can be personal circumstances (to be determined by the academic counsellors) or placement for another course (you have to send proof to the master administration office that you have been placed for another course after the unregistration deadline).
